The membership secretary processes new applications and handles all queries related to a persons membership of the u3a. Our membership details are maintained on a online database with some details held locally. A reasonable level of IT skill is required but full training can be given.

In addition to answering queries received by email or phone the membership secretary usually attends the monthly meetings, monthly coffee mornings and the open day to answer any queries related to membership and help prospective members with the application process.

This is a committee role and a report on membership is required at each committee meeting.

The membership secretary also overseas the distribution of the journal each month and the handbook once a year, the secretary is assisted by a small team of envelope packers and a significant team of journal distributors.
