This role would help the membership secretary processes new applications and handle queries related to a persons membership of the u3a. Our membership details are maintained on a online database with some details held locally. A reasonable level of IT skill is required but full training can be given.
The membership secretary usually attends the monthly meetings, monthly coffee mornings and the open day to answer any queries related to membership and help prospective members with the application process, when this is not possible the assistant would be asked to attend.
This is a not a committee role but you would be asked to become a trustee of Tonbridge u3a and may be asked to attend the committee occasionally.
The assistant membership secretary would assist with the distribution of the journal each month and the handbook once a year, you would be assisted by a small team of envelope packers and a significant team of journal distributors.
