Trips
Many trips are organised under the auspices of Tonbridge u3a. Some of these are arranged within groups for example the Discovering Churches group but some are open for all members to apply for places.
The Theatre Visits Team arrange several theatre visits a year. We aim to provide a varied programme covering serious drama, comedies and musicals. These are usually matinees and mostly in London when we travel by train, either independently or as a group. We occasionally include a visit to a local venue. Theatre trips are available to all members.
The TripsTeam
New members may not know that, over the past two decades, many of us were lucky enough to have coach trips to places of interest all over the South East that were organised by the Travel Team. To the disappointment of many, these sadly came to an end last summer.
Make no mistake, organising days out is hard work but, I understand, also fun and of course a team (of maybe 6) spreads the load equally. If, like me, you miss the trips or hadn’t been on one but like the sound of it, please get in touch to see if we can get a new team off the ground. To be part of this potential new team, you will need to have time to spare, like a challenge and enjoy working as part of a small group. You will need to be organised and will most likely be an ‘ideas’ person. We can organise an informal first meeting to talk about it, no commitment at this stage. I’m happy to talk one-to-one after the usual Wednesday meeting on 5 March, or at the coffee morning on Friday 21 March.
I look forward to hearing from you. Please email me on trips@tonbridgeu3a.uk
